As the cryptocurrency space continues to grow, so will the need for miners, which are in essence the lifeblood of the virtual money.
However, it could be difficult to get your hands on the top cards. Nvidia’s latest GTX 1080’s are sold out on their website and their TITAN Xp’s look like they’re getting snapped up really fast.
Consider yourself lucky if you can buy the top hardware in the next 48 hours.

Really quick read, recommended.

Personally, I believe it's more economical to just BUY coins outright - unless your savy enough to switch what your mining around. There are some cryptos worth mining, maybe XMR Monero still? It really depends on your hardware, and unfortunately hardware is expensive right now. Even of the non-miners.

Tell me about it! I have no interest in mining bitcoin because power is so expensive where I live, but I do play games! I was looking at treating myself to a computer upgrade this year, but graphics cards are much too expensive!

Guess I'll spend that money on some more ram and a bigger SSD, and maybe just buy some ethereum or something - maybe it'll appreciate and I can afford a better graphics card by next year haha.

I'm in the same boat , been meaning to do some hardware upgrades for a while now but those graphic cards are too pricey . No wonder Nvidia has been killing it with its share price .

I don't game much these days so have actually been considering a nice laptop. Those HP Spectres look fantastic !

Yes! A customer at work had one of those laptops, they are really nice looking indeed.

To stay on topic a bit, I will add that I personally see a major shift away from intense mining requirements for crypto. There is beginning to be a big shift towards a PoS model, and besides that - mining is an absolute waste of energy.

I'm actually looking at picking up some miner gear to mine some small coins like Pascal.

may not be cost effective , but like you all I am ready for an upgrade anyways .

just wish prices weren't double what they should be !

I have tried to in the past with Bitcoin (before it got huge), but it just took too much energy and money (GPU farm wise) to make a profit. Now, if I would have known that it would have reached the high amount that it is at now, it would have been solid profit for a very long time.

I think the prices are double what they used to be since it is gaining on popularity with everyone due to the huge spikes in price going upwards for any currency.

absolutely .. I did a little mining years ago but it wasn't cost effective for my little machine .. if only I had stuck with it I would now be a millionaire. but I'm not , and living in the past does good for no one . we can try to see the best investments for the future though .
